For the first time in the world, Ukrainian doctors have successfully treated a child with stage 4 cancer with 5 recurrences of the disease (Fundraising is closed)

On September 6, 2021, the Kyiv City Clinical Oncology Center in the Children’s Department began treatment of a child, Oleksandra Brailovska, who has been suffering from neuroblastoma for 12 years, stage 4 and has a 5th recurrence of the disease. The child was treated from 1.5 years of age: chemotherapy, tumor removal surgery, radiation therapy, high-dose chemotherapy with bone marrow transplantation. But the child could not be completely cured, the disease returned after some time: from 1 year to several months. A new biological drug, CARZIBA, has recently been introduced that recognizes and acts only on neuroblastoma tumor cells. This drug is not registered in our country. Such patients have not yet had experience of using the drug in the world. Thanks to charitable assistance, funds were raised for 2 incomplete courses of treatment with this drug. Early signs of treatment effectiveness were revealed. After 2 courses of treatment, the child still successfully suffered a coronavirus infection. Today the girl is in a satisfactory condition. It is planned to continue treatment with a new drug, at least 3 courses of immunotherapy.
